With around 4000 inhabitants, Fügen is the largest town in the Zillertal - the "most active valley of the world". In summer you can enjoy the magnificent panorama of the surrounding mountains while hiking along the Spieljoch, Nordic Walking or active and sporty cycling and mountain biking. You will spend amusing and exciting hours at the local mountain of Fügen, the Spieljoch. Once you’ve been there, you want to go there again – especially with children. The Spieljoch adventure mountain keeps what its name promises: adventures and experiences in nature, for every generation! From sporting activities on foot, with a mobile vehicle up in the air, to playful exploration of nature and enjoyment on the sun deck of the mountain loft restaurant. From the mountain station you can also reach the summit cross of the Spieljoch easily in about 20 minutes via the “Gipfel-Barfuß-Weg”! Excursion destinations such as the local museum in the “Widumspfiste”, the cheese dairy in Fügen, the Zillertaler “Speckstube” and many historic chapels and churches give Fügen its special character. On holiday with family, a visit to the theme trails in Fügen "Putzi and the magic nut" and "Wonders of the natural world" is an absolute highlight. WINTER

In winter, the Spieljoch skiing area in Fügen is perfect for children and offers easy master training hills for beginners in the valley and long descents up the mountain. By using the free ski bus you can access the neighbouring skiing area Hochfügen-Hochzillertal fast and comfortably. In the excellent and popular skiing resorts Hochfügen-Hochzillertal and Spieljoch you are awaited by modern lift systems and numerous cilometres of perfectly groomed pistes. Apart from winter activities like romantic snowshoeing, or hiking you can also enjoy tobogganing, cross-country skiing and ice skating in the holiday region Fügen-Kaltenbach. Putzi and the magic nut & Wonders of the natural world

Theme path: Putzi and the magic nut
Follow the Fairy Tale Trail, get to know the friends of Putzi the squirrel and join them to discover the secret of the magic nut. The trail is about 0,5 km long, walkable all year round, illuminated and pushchair-friendly with no step gradients.
Walking time: approx. 2 hours | Difficulty: easy

Theme path: Wonders of the natural world
The themed trail provides an inside into the history and development of bionics, with some interesting examples on display, and allows visitors to directly experience inventions that have been copied from nature. The trail is about 2,1 km long and not pushchair-friendly.

Theme trail: Putzi awaits a surprise
Just above the playground, on the path towards Goglhof, begins the theme trail "Putzi awaits a surprise". If you solve all the tasks along the riddle trail together with Putzi the squirrel and Hansi the deer, a great surprise awaits you at the Goglhof.
