Strass in the Zillertal is the first town in the first holiday region of Fügen-Kaltenbach, at the entrance to the Zillertal and its population of 830 extend a welcome to you at 520m above sea level. With its unique situation, the recreation resort of Strass is centrally located between Innsbruck, Kufstein and the picturesque Achensee. In an optimal location for excursions in and around the Zillertal, Strass also has very good public transport connections. This means that when you are not bringing your car with you, the Zillertalbahn is available to use, so you get to explore the valley out to Mayrhofen via steam train.

Tip: Circular hike & Family hike in Strass

From the Maria Brettfall pilgrimage church, the hike (route no. 2) proceeds via the Schrofenmarterl wayside cross and the Schlitterberg back to Strass. Estimated walking time is 2-3 hours, with 600 metres altitude to tackle. The hike provides some variety for young and old alike and is designated as being a moderate difficulty level hike.
